Although the feeders have only been filled for a week they have been very
busy. Jays, chickadees, RB and WB nuthatches, lots of Juncos, goldfinches,
mourning doves, fox sparrows and a couple of unidentified smaller sparrows,
perhaps chipping. In a fit of optimism I put out the humming bird feeder yesterday
only to have something climb the pole and chew off the little yellow
flowers. Suspect raccoons, too dainty a job for the bears which should be coming
around any time. Saw two harlequins in the cove yesterday, unusual for here.
