On Sunday I was watching a mixed flock of birds
around my feeders (a dozen redpolls, pair of juncos, a
fox sparrow, black-capped chickadees and a lone robin)
when I was surprised to hear a Winter Wren singing. I
heard it sing clearly three times, but was unable to
see it.
Monday evening I saw a woodcock calling in a backyard
on Alderney Drive in Enfield.
Finally, this afternoon I saw the first Song Sparrow
in my yard for this year, along with a resident
Red-tail surveying the territory.
