Mary and I visited one of our favorite spots near a chicken farm not far from Port Hawkesbury yesterday. We observed over fifty eagles of all ages. Some were performing what I believe would be a courting ritual by flying together and separating and coming back together again in repeat cycles - quite impressive. Looked for an eagle nest but couldn't find any. Also observed a lone coyote through the scope for about 15 minutes in a remote meadow in the same location. It seemed to be hunting something in the meadow as it traveled slowly back and forth with its head down, apparently sniffing the ground. Here at home, the Northern Mockingbird and Pine Warbler continue to visit our feeders every day. Also lots of Junkos. David Johnston, Port Hawkesbury. -- David W. Johnston Mary K.
