  Subject: [NatureNS] Our 'Regulars'

  I enjoy the stories people post about the bird behaviour they observe =
in=20
  their backyards.

  Isn't it nice to have our 'regulars' at our backyard feeders? I worry =
a=20
  bit when the chickadees, bluejays, crows and other 'regulars' are away =
a=20
  day or two. Then when the 'regulars' come back it's as exciting as=20
  having a 'guest'.   I had 1 male and 1 female Evening Grosbeak=20
  yesterday. My first this year and they used to descend in hordes and=20
  clean the feeder out. What is going on with Evening Grosbeaks or am I=20
  just not this years winter destination hotspot?

  We name our wildlife from the Thornton W Burgess children's stories. =
Of=20
  course, this mean all skunks are Jimmy and all frogs are Grandfather =
but=20
  its been a great way for the kids to connect to wildlife and give them =

  an equal level of importance as they do to other people.
  We haven't seen Lightfoot this year but there have been many tracks in =

  the yard. Could be the apples.

  --=20
  Bertha had a whole armload of opinions. She'd go around and collect =
them=20
  and give them to you all at once.

  Medicine River
