All, and especially Cape Islanders: An Irish colleague has written me asking us to keep an eye open for "light-bellied" Brant (our subspecies) banded in Ireland. Some of these have been spotted in Arctic Canada and Newfoundland and might get involved with that part of the population that migrates through here. The colour bands, about one inch high, are placed on both legs, with an aluminum band usually on the right leg above the coloured one. Any band observed should be reported with particulars on colour and leg placement to: Graham McElwaine Irish Brant Goose Research Group <grahammcelwaine@btinternet.com> Thanks, Ian McLaren
