Hey Randy.

I have no hesatation in calling this Redpoll a Hoary.

Within the flock of Redpolls that I've had at my feeders (up to 450+ on =
some days) there was easly 10-12 of these "Easy" Hoary redpolls and =
quite a few other Juv. and intermediate ones mixed in. It's mesmerizing =
to try to study individual birds within the mass of motion thank =
goodness for digital cameras and the feeders being within arms reach.=20

  Subject: [NatureNS] weekend feeder birds

  Good morning all,

At this link you will find a few shots of birds at my feeder, =
including the promised ones of the yellow Red Crossbill. =
http://people.stfx.ca/rlauff/photos/recent2.html

There are a couple shots of Red-tails, one at the classic sentinel =
spot (which the eagles and corvids also use...it's the tallest tree =
around the orchard).

Also, there is a series of shots of one Redpoll...I'm cautiously =
optimistic that this is a Hoary, but would gladly hear others' opinions.

  Randy
