Hi All;

I should learn to never anticipate the weather. When I walked the
dog today, I assumed the clouds would stay cloudy, and that there
would be few birds about on the Prospect barrens. So I left my camera at home.

And you might guess what happened. There were two Pine Grosbeaks
right in the village feeding on fat rose-hips, and I could walk
within 2 metres of them. A couple of robins were nearby, but more
skittish. And then the Short-eared Owl gave a lovely display of
hunting over the barrens, and the light was superb. And no camera. . .

Cheers,
