This is just a note to Don MacNeill et al. who have been looking for shorebirds at Crescent. The Black-bellied Plover and 20 or so Dunlin are overwintering, and have been present since the fall. They are reliable at almost anytime, except at high tide. The Black- belly often feeds on the flats by the bridge to Bush Island. Purple Sandpipers can be seen on the rocks at the far end of the beach, and at high tide are often very close to the beach, even feeding in the weed on the edge of the beach.
