<a ymailto="mailto:naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca" href="mailto:naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca">naturens-owner@chebucto.ns.ca Hi All, Feb 21, 2008 Today was a good time to be outdoors and, timing being everything, Naturens came to life while I was elsewhere. Samual Johnson, as I recall, said 'The law is an ass" or something to that effect. Anything sent by electronic means, e.g. phone calls, e-mails and radio is as public as BO in a stalled elevator. In addition to the intended audience, messages may be tapped by the unintended for commercial or security purposes. But, having some node, such as birding on the net, linking to Naturens is I think entirely positive. Just think, if several thousand people have the opportunity to read our e-mails, then the chance that someone will read every word and comprehend the message will approach unity. Whether this still applies (or ever applied because I did not check) I don't know, but according to a backchannel e-mail from someone who followed birding on the net (Sept 16, 2006), the body of Naturens e-mail could be accessed only if they were in plain text.
