People: There are countless sites like the birdingonthenet one and natureNS mailings are directly available without subscription if you know the archive address. Birdingonthenet and other like it don't facilitate mailing to their listed sites and also usually (always?) remove or modify e-mail addresses to limit the misuse of addresses by others. But, if you believe that your e-mail address is completely protetcted from spam by this and other means, you're mistaken. Once any message is out there, there are ways to get at it. So our sage moderator's advice should be heeded. Don't send anything to the hundreds of subscribers to naturens that you would like to keep from being read by others. I see this morning that birdingonthenet has removed naturens from its list of available sites, probably because of the recent negative messages. I think this is a pity, as at best our conversations may be useful to anyone coming to or otherwise interested in the natural history of Nova Scotia. It has retained NS-RBA (a public-access site) along with those from eight other provinces, which I think is a good service for those interested in birds. Cheers, Ian McLaren
