Acadia University is in need of bird specimens. With= our new facilities being completed as we speak, there will be a brand new = state of the art collections room that will house the Acadia collection, ho= pefully as of this spring. I would like to be able to enhance the collecti= on over the next couple years with some new specimens of birds we do not ha= ve good series of or we are lacking completely. Acadia has a salvage permi= t, so we can obtain birds legally, but cannot actively collect them. Below= is a list of birds we are interested in and then some that we definitely d= o not want. If you have any of the birds on our "want" list we would be de= lighted to have them. If you have birds that are not on either list could = you e-mail me with a list of what you do have that would be wonderfull, and= I'll get back in touch with you if we are interested in any of them. You = can contact me at nebulosa200ATgmail.com with any questions or if you have= birds stored away in the freezer that we may be interested in. =20 Here is our "wanted" list (many of these species are unlikely as window or = road kills, but it's worth a try!), birds in bold are those for which we ha= ve no specimens of, the rest are ones of which we either have very poor or = very few specimens: =20 Brant American Black Duck Eurasian Wigeon Gadwall Harlequin Duck Surf Scoter Barrow's Goldeneye Hooded Merganser Bufflehead Manx Shearwater CORY'S SHEARWATER Great Cormorant Northern Gannet Broad-winged Hawk PEREGRINE FALCON GYRFALCON AMERICAN OYSTERCATCHER Ruddy Turnstone Semipalmated Sandpiper Least Sandpiper BLACK-HEADED GULL Boneparte's Gull GREAT SKUA LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL LITTLE GULL LAUGHING GULL Sora Killdeer Lesser Yellowlegs Whimbrel Razorbill Morning Dove =20 Birds we at not interested in are introduced species such as: European Starling Rock Pigeon House Sparrow =20 Again, if you have any specimens (included or not in above list) could you = please e-mail me a list of what is in your freezer and we can make arangeme= nts for pickup. =20 Thanks for considering this request, Luke DeCicco Wolfville=20 _________________________________________________________________ Helping your favorite cause is as easy as instant messaging.=A0You IM, we g= ive. http://im.live.com/Messenger/IM/Home/?source=3Dtext_hotmail_join= --_0341017d-6457-43e7-842a-e54f05327c52_ Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <html> <head> <style> .hmmessage P { margin:0px; padding:0px } body.hmmessage { FONT-SIZE: 10pt; FONT-FAMILY:Tahoma } </style> </head> <body class=3D'hmmessage'> Hello all,<BR> <BR> I hope this subject is within what is accepted in both these lists, my appo= logies if it is not.
