The=A0January meeting of the Halifax Centre of the RASC (Royal =20
Astronomical Society of Canada) will be held Friday,=A0January  18th at =20=

8:00 PM in Room L176 of the Loyola Building at Saint Mary's University.

(A map can be found at the Centre's web site; see below.)

Members of the public are welcome. Attendance is free.

This meeting will=A0be a Member's Night including several presentation =
by =20
members of the Centre, including:

- Lunar libration for beginners: Dave Chapman will explain how the =20
"empty focus" of the Moon's elliptical orbit can be used to explain the =20=

observed longitudinal motion of the Moon as it revolves around the =20
Earth

- Equipment Show & Tell (including a Star Spectroscope)

- Recent Astrophotos (including Comet Holmes)

Also, if the weather cooperates on Tuesday, several members will =20
hopefully have comments from David Levy's presentation at Mount Allison =20=

University.
