We had two pine warblers at our feeders here in Port Hawkesbury on Count Day (December 28). They seem to have disappeared since the "thaw'. We expect they may return if and when the weather deteriorates. We currently have a NORTHERN MOCKINGBIRD and an adult male BALTIMORE ORIOLE visiting each day along with Redpolls, House Sparrows, Chickadees, Red Crossbills, Pine Grosbeaks etc. Also have seen a NORTHERN SHRIKE on several occasions. The Mockingbird feeds on blueberries and a few berries from our landscaping. The beautiful Oriole likes grape jelly with an occasional visit to our home made peanut butter/lard/oatmeal suet mix. These birds have been around for more than two weeks and don't seem to be planning on moving on.
