Hi Gary:
Yesterday, Edna Brunt called to let us know that there were 2-300 Common =
Redpolls coming to their feeders and shrubbery on Vault Rd.
Barbara and I went over today. Quite an experience!
Invited in for tea and treats we watched the redpolls swarm to within =
6ft of their front door, on the ground and on the feeders and into the =
dormant flowering crab trees within 30' ft of their front door.
With so many in close proximity it was too easy to decide on a number =
that looked much lighter than others. We were there at about 1300 and =
stayed for at least 90 mins., once we were inside the house the activity =
never stopped until we opened the door to leave.
No traffic to disturb the birds; it is an ideal opportunity for unique =
photographs and searching for the various species and subspecies.=20
Cheers, Barbara and Pat
