  All,

(Apologies if this comes through twice...Gmail said that something was =
amiss.)

This was a decent weekend for the Project Feederwatch for me. Although =
eagles and ravens were down (two and one, respectively), I had my first =
Pine Siskins back in over a month. In addition, just after I got off the =
phone with Bruce Stevens, where I was telling him about my three RB =
Nuthatches, a fourth showed up.=20

Additionally, one of our secretaries told me of a bird at her feeder =
that looked like a Blue Jay, but was almost all red. I confirmed with =
her that it did have a crest, and she said she'd call me on the weekend =
if it was back; sadly, no such call arrived. I've only seen a small =
handful of cardinals in Antigonish County.=20

Additionally, a friend in Lochaber has an American Kestrel roosting in =
his barn; part of its diet includes his feeder birds.=20

Oh yeah, the Barred Owl made a nice addition to Project Feederwatch =
today=85only the second such occurrence in my ~10 years of participating =
in that survey. It's still sitting there as I type this, and the =
darkness is creeping in=85the Blue Jays and others went over to pay =
their respects a few times, but the owl did not seem phased. I'll check =
for pellets tomorrow.=20

  Randy

In the boonies north of Antigonish.

  Randy
