BlankYAAAAAYYY! We finally spotted the cardinal in Findlay park! At
Sullivan's pond, there were >8 widgeons, one of whom was a stunning European
male, three coots, >4 black-backed gulls, etc. The widgeons were all on the
grass, and they are definitely getting tamer.
I got the impression, at the meeting about planning for Sullivan's pond in
the fall, that the folks who were in favour of the fountain were the duck
haters (or should I say 'duck feces haters'). Ironic, then, that the
fountain seems to be the attraction that has brought thousands of
happily-pooping seagulls to the pond! They seemed to be enjoying the
shower, as they were mostly clustered in that area.
