Martin, I too have a lot of birds going after cracked corn, which I put out in a pheasant feeder instead of whole-kernel corn. But I am also spreading a lot of other stuff on the ground, like millet and mixed seed from Shur-Gain, and I have a variety of hanging feeders. Cheers from Jim in Wolfville ---------- From: Martin Thomas <harthomas@ns.sympatico.ca> Date: Fri, 21 Dec 2007 15:37:28 -0400 To: jimwolford@eastlink.ca Subject: Bad weather bonanza Dear Jim: We are having record numbers of birds at our feeders probably due to the cold , windy weather. 2 days ago we had 22 Pheasants huddled by our back door under the porch. Everyday we have 50+ Mourning Doves and about the same number of Dark-eyed Juncos and about 15 Blue Jays. There are smaller numbers of Sparrows, Song , Chipping (Clay Coloured?), White-throated, White-crowned, House, American Tree, a few Redpolls, Black-capped Chickadees, Downy Woodpeckers, Hairy Woodpeckers, Yellow-shafted Flickers. I got cracked corn for the pheasants but everything seems to be eating it this weather. Martin No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition.
