Hi all,

The Wolfville CBC took place today - characterized by very cold, strong
wind, frozen ponds and lakes, and deep snow cover. However, everywhere
looked very pretty and Xmas-like. Total numbers are not yet in, but will
probably end up being average/ low. Birds of particular interest included -
Peregrine, N.Harriers, several Rough-legs, the expected loads of Bald Eagles
and Red-tails, Sanderling, several Pileated Woodpeckers, flocks of Bohemian
Waxwings, a N.Shrike, 2 Pine Warblers, White-crowned Sparrows, Vesper
Sparrow, 6+ N.Cardinals, Pine and Evening Grosbeaks, 1 Hoary Redpoll. Alison
Bogan is the compiler, and a complete report will follow eventually.

There are apparently 3 E.Towhees coming to a feeder in Cambridge (outside
the count circle).

We have just finished a delightful pot-luck and count at our place, and I
would like to particularly thank my wife Liz for getting everything ready
while I was out counting birds.

Richard
