Here's a blatant commercial add-on related to what is below: weather
permitting, I will be at the HFN meeting on Thursday evening with a dozen
Blomidon Naturalists Society 2008 CALENDARS to peddle, at $15 each -- and I
can take I.O.U.s if necessary, or orders for more calendars -- shameless
commercialism, I know!  Just doing my duty for BNS!

Thurs., Dec. 6, 7:30 p.m., Nova Scotia Museum of Natural History =96 Halifax
Field Naturalists Meeting: All About Bats + Holiday Social
Join Krista Patriquin for a presentation all about bats. Krista will be
touching on a number of topics, such as bat diversity, evolution, and
conservation concerns. Furthermore, she will dispel a number of myths
surrounding bats and offer a glimpse into their social life.

Holiday Social: Our annual Members' Holiday Social will take place after
tonight's talk. Please bring your sweets or savouries and non-alcoholic
beverages to the usual meeting area. A subscription to The Halifax Field
Naturalist would make a good Christmas gift. Bring your money or a cheque.
Please note - there are no facilities for heating food.
