Hi,

Another book that I found to be very good and readable on this subject is
Heat, by George Monbiot. He does present both sides of the "is global
warming real" debate and explains why he is convinced it is, and the drastic
steps we have to take to avoid disaster, in a rather low-key, un-hysterical
way. But I think the point that Terry might have been making is why are we
still getting bad winters, cold temperatures and high winds in the face of
global "warming", and it would be nice to see a text that explains why
global warming leads to more extreme swings of weather, and it doesn't just
proceed in a linear fashion.
