It's not often, at least I presume this, that the trip leader gets a life bird on his own trip, but the highlight of the day for many of us (including being the lifer for me) was a *Prairie Warble= r * at Williams Point. We had at least 65 species for the group=85sorry to disappoint those going = for 75=85 We had 18 species of ducks and geese, with Greater Scaup and Long-tailed Duck being notably absent. We had five raptors including a Barred Owl that hooted in response to the playback of a N Saw-whet Owl. We also counted six species each of gull and sparrow. A *Marsh Wren* was seen by one and heard by several. One *Ruby-crowned Kinglet* was probably wondering where all of its buddies were=85 Finches were not abundant, but diverse=85we only missed Pine Siskin of the expected finches.
