All,

For anyone who is interested in this sort of news, I first heard and then saw two Peregrine Falcons in downtown Halifax soon after I got off my bus this morning. I'm not sure if they are seen regularly or even occasionally in the city but it was the first time in the 13 years I've been here I've had the pleasure.

At first, one bird was diving at the second, the latter flying off quickly. The first continued soaring around above the Cogswell interchange/Scotia Square area eventually landing briefly on the tail of the "2" of the "2000" on the BDC building. He took off after a couple of minutes heading south.

I had become used to seeing Peregrines in downtown Edmonton as they nested on high rises there for many years. Quite a treat to see them in Halifax.
