Hi Everyone;

My husband and I went to Seaview Park yesterday, but
we were surrounded by off-leash dogs! The park was
packed with dog walkers who allowed their pets to run
everywhere, barking and chasing toys and each other -
approaching every newcomer to check them out.

There were almost no birds to be seen: a few
chickadees, juncos, a single YR Warbler...

We met Bob and Wendy McDonald there who were having no
better luck.

We then drove further down the road, past the park,
towards the Fairview Cove Container Terminal (West,
then South as the road starts to curve around the end
of bedford Basin). We went into the first open gate,
explored the bushes along the fence by the road - a
few Song Sparrows only; then we drove to the end and
another open gate close to the Container Terminal.

There were a lot of birds here: Song and House
Sparrows, Juncos, Goldfinches, and of course
Starlings, Crows, Pigeons, Gulls. We caught a glimpse
of something that might have been a Dickcissel, but
couldn't relocate it.

Is this the "hot spot"? It certainly seemed
promising!

Cheers;
Suzanne
