Hi Jim- This may be of interest to naturens. Will you post it for me?

 Joan

It was gorgeous in Shelburne county this weekend. Lots of shorebirds
still at the Hawk.

I watched the *Carolina Wren* feeding at Donna Ensor's feeders from 2:30
to 3:00pm today, Sunday.

Two White breasted Nuthatches were also present, as well as the Catbird
and the usual feeder birds ( Bluejays, Am. Goldfinches, Red-breasted
Nuthatches, Juncos, Sparrows,. and Mourning Doves. Along the wood road
were two Grey Jays and a Pileated Woodpecker. There were a lot of Robins
and White-throated Sparrows around.

I was interested to see the *Yucca* plants so healthy in Donna's yard.
How far north do they winter over, I wonder? The Cosmos there were
still blooming, and near Welshtown Lake I found Tansy plants starting to
grow again.

Also near Welshtown Lake this afternoon a *Red-bellied Snake* was
freshly killed by a vehicle.

Last night I enjoyed a treat of wild* mushrooms *(Boletus edulis). Many
Lactaria were also evident, but I found none of the Delicious Lactarius.

Cheers, Joan
