Hi eveyrone:

This comet normally orbits between Mars and Jupiter. It is currently at =20=

near opposition, which means that the Earth lies between it and the =20
Sun. The tail of a comet is caused by the solar wind, which blows =20
outwards from the Sun is all directions. The solar wind pushes the =20
material the gassy material in the direction opposite that f the Sun. =20=

Thus, if i toil forms for this comet it will be pointing away from the =20=

Sun, and also away from the Earth.

The big question is what caused it to suddenly get over a million times =20=

brighter... my first guess is that a piece of debris from the asteroid =20=

belt hit it, but this comet did the same thing in the late 1800s.
