Halifax Field Naturalists - Sunday, October 21, 2007 - Cranberry Pick
(storm date: Sunday, Oct. 28th, same time and place)
Scott Yetman will lead our annual Cranberry Pick at Taylor Head Provincial Park. It will not be an extensive hike, and participants are free to stay close to the parking lot for picking, or to hike further in. Everybody has to make sure they are back at their cars by 4:00 p.m., at which time (only) the gate is opened again. If you prefer to leave earlier than 4:00 p.m., you must park your car outside, and walk back to the gate. Wear suitable clothing for the weather and rocky terrain, and bring lunch and drinks.
      . Contact: Scott Yetman, 469-6380
. Time and place: Meet at the gate to Taylor Head Provincial Park at 10:00 a.m. sharp because the gate will be locked after the assembled participants have proceded through it. Late-comers will have to walk in (45-60 minutes walk)! The park is located on the Eastern Shore, 0.4 km east of Spry Bay, Halifax County, 11 km southwest of Sheet Harbour on Route 7, Marine Drive.
      . Duration: 6 hours; until 4:00 p.m.
. Difficulty: Easy to Moderate, according to individual choice.
