It was also =20= pointed out to me that bumblebees come in different sizes. I guess I =20 always assumed that it was only a bumblebee if it was looked like a bee =20= that had been put on steroids. When I got stung the first time, I thought I would dump a shovelful of =20= soil over the entrance and that would be the end of it. About an hour =20= later there were close to 3 dozen very confused bees there. All of them =20= were honey bee-sized. They did eventually manage to dig out the hole =20 again. I didn't recall anything being left behind after having been stung =20 those times. I had a small red spot that "stung" for about five =20 minutes and 15 minutes later I didn't really know I had been stung. In =20= each of these cases, the bee that did it was one of the "small" ones. I =20= know that different poeple have different pain thresholds, so I may be =20= less affected by them, or it may be that there are not a lot of nerves =20= on the ankles, which is where all five stings occurred.
