At Shorebird Cove at 2:00-3:30 p.m. yesterday, with the usual mix of shorebirds, was one Dunlin, still in almost full juvenal plumage. This plumage is rarely seen here, as most Dunlin moult before leaving the north. It was good practice for me at distinguishing this plumage, with much rufous showing, from the ever hoped-for Curlew Sandpiper.

Cheers,
Susann
