The = spring 2007 federal budget made cuts of $7.6 million to grants and = contributions to environmental groups, $55.4 million cuts to youth = employment programs that previously allowed community organizations and = other non-profit groups to hire youth, and a $4.6 million cut to the = Museums Assistance Program. Yesterday, CBC news sources said the = Canadian Wildlife Service had its service budget frozen for the rest of = the fiscal year and other groups' budgets were cut by up to 80 per cent. = The cuts include an 80 per cent budget cut to the Environmental = Monitoring and Assessment Network, while the Migratory Bird Program = budget has been cut in half. The budget for 144 National Wildlife Areas = has been slashed from $1.9 million to zero.
