There was an obvious migration of birds over the island last night. =
After dark, you could hear constant chirping overhead. Several times in =
the evening and even at midnight the vocalizations were constant and =
steady, very remarkable. Winds were light with a low overcast and it was =
a very still evening. I haven't seen any postings about raptors so =
thought I should tell you that the last two days there have been many =
sharp shinned hawks all over the island. In lesser numbers but plentiful =
and widespread also were merlins, kestrels, harriers and even peregrine's.
