This summer our researchers again have a project tracking shearwaters in =
the Bay of Fundy and beyond via satellite telemetry. We had only enough =
funding for two satellite tags this year and have chosen to deploy them =
on two sooty shearwaters. As with the tracking of greater shearwaters =
in 2006, the satellite positions are available on the seaturtle.org =
website: http://www.seaturtle.org/tracking/?project_id=3D237

This is the first time sooty shearwaters have been tracked in the =
Atlantic. We hope for as much success as we had last year with the =
greater shearwaters, the first time any greater shearwaters had been =
satellite tracked. If you are unfamiliar with the 2006 project, the =
tracklines are also archived on seaturtle.org.

Check back often to see the latest updates. Already, the two birds are =
showing great movement within the Bay of Fundy.
