Index of Subjects Thanks Jane: The following info from a concerned local "committee"member, and might be a useful point. Cheers, Ian Unfortunately, Conrod Beach currently as two designations: a park and a protected beach. It does not have any infrastructure, and the Dept. of Natural Resources does acknowledge and emphasize the ecological value over the recreational value. However, the department does not seem to have the manpower to police & protect the ecosystem adequately. I would like to see environmental groups lobby the provincial government to remove the Park designation from Conrod Beach. As long as it has a dual designation, the public will tend to view the beach as an area ripe for recreational development, instead of as a protected nature preserve.
