The following info from a concerned local "committee"member, and might be a
useful point. Cheers, Ian

Unfortunately, Conrod Beach currently as two designations: a park and a
protected beach. It does not have any infrastructure, and the Dept. of
Natural Resources does acknowledge and emphasize the ecological value over
the recreational value. However, the department does not seem to have the
manpower to police & protect the ecosystem adequately.

I would like to see environmental groups lobby the provincial government to
remove the Park designation from Conrod Beach. As long as it has a dual
designation, the public will tend to view the beach as an area ripe for
recreational development, instead of as a protected nature preserve.
