Besides these nest reports below, which are quite good for fledglings per nest, there are several more nests for e. King's County to be reported. Two of those are along the north bank of the Gaspereau River, west of White Rock bridge, where Joanne Bezanson says there was at least one youngster produced -- I need to find out what dates were the nest-checks by her and Ron. And Bernard Forsythe said there were two fledglings in the nest south of Cyril Coldwell's house at Gaspereau. More details will have to come from Bernard and from Rick Whitman. July 2, 2007 - Terry Pearson saw what he thought was a ROAD-KILLED ADULT BALD EAGLE along highway 101 on the north side of the highway near the Grand Pre exit -- I didnšt find out in time to check it out myself, and Terry did not stop in his car. July 3, 2007 - Eye Road BALD EAGLE NEST: at least one large fledgling being fed by adult at 8:15 p.m. Greenwich BALD EAGLE NEST at 8:40 p.m.: 2? large fledglings (silhouettes). Note: did they have more than that earlier?? July 4, 2007 - Wallbrook BALD EAGLE NEST: an adult was present with 2 big fledglings. (Also I met Helen Morse, a friend of the Stirlings, there.) Starršs Point Loop Road BALD EAGLE NEST: at least one large fledgling. Starršs Point/Canard Riverbank BALD EAGLE NEST (on Chris Coxšs farm land), ne. of Port Williams: at least 2 big fledglings. Canard Road BALD EAGLE NEST (east and south of Hwy. 358): 3 big fledglings filling the nest. July 5, 2007 - BALD EAGLE NEST n. of Waterville, ne. of Berwick (on land of Mitchell & Jennifer Visser): 2 large fledgling eaglets -- ALSO a bonus was getting a good look at the small birds that were coming and going into the side of the eagle nest, where they probably had a nest, were two HOUSE SPARROWS. This is IMPORTANT because for a few years we have noticed perhaps the same kind of small birds associated with at least two other eagle nests in our area -- one east of Wolfville, and one east of Port Williams -- and we just couldnšt get good enough views of them to confirm my suspicions that they were house sparrows.
