I am seeing quite a few fresh Red Admirals over the past week. I
presume they have only one brood here? If so these are the individuals
that will migrate south, hibernate there & return next spring. It
seems to me to be a long life span for a butterfly.

We have Echinacea plants in our backyard and are certainly a favorite for
Red Admirals. Sometimes 3-4 are nectaring at the same time.
