Hi Doug:
I should have been more precise and said "adult non-breeding plumage". The
Laughing Gull had only the trace of a black hood on the back of its head.
Otherwise this bird appeared to be in adult plumage rather than juvenile or
1st summer plumage.

How does one know if an adult Laughing Gull is non-breeding?
