August 3, 2007

Conrad's Beach in pea soup fog, but it was pleasantly cool for a great =
walk on the beach! Just one dog (yep, unleashed!) and very few =
beachcombers/ swimmers.=20

1 Hudsonian Godwit - just after the high tide.=20
8 + Short billed dowitchers
2 Greater Yellowlegs
12 + Sanderlings- fading breeding plumage - my first for 2007
2 Ruddy Turnstones
2 Semipalmated sandpipers
15 + Semipalmated plovers
1 Black bellied plover

AND the pectoral sandpiper was still there at the Hartlen Point beach =
near the T-intersection dirt road. Hundreds of lesser yellowlegs and =
dowitchers at the Rainbow Beach mud flats

Cheers, liz
