Hi all,

If your looking for Ragged Fringed Orchid and live in Halifax County look no further than Sandy Cove Road. There are lots of examples alongside this road, mostly on the north, south-facing side of the road. Parking is easy here anywhere alongside the road and there is almost no traffic. There is also a couple of Horned Bladderwort in the north-side ditch. The cove and beach at the east end of the road are good for shorebirds in October and the full length of the road, especially the ridge area, are good for migrants September through November.

I've posted photographs #54 to #74, comprising wildflowers, butterflies, moths, damselflies, frogs, birds and a photo of Pennant Point partially shrouded by morning fog. Pennant Point which is in Crystal Crescent Beach PP is an area I often visit. The point of land you see in the top of the photo is the most southern place on the Chebucto Peninsula and offers excellent viewing for pelagic birds, if you are willing to cart a spotting scope for two hours and 5 kilometres.

Hans
