Hi all
While atlassing Saturday in Hadleyville square near Mulgrave, I had my first ' fall" Solitary Sandpiper. There was a young sandpiper nearby, but the parent ending up being a Spotted Sandpiper when I went closer for a better look. There were shorebirds here and there although I did not keep a record of numbers. I noted a few Dowichers with Yellowlegs and Willets. I had confirmations on Spotted Sandpipers in Steep Creek, Sand Point and the Hadleyville squares. There were still lots of birds feeding young and carrying food, but the bird song sure has declined in the last week. especailly noticeable in hardwood areas.
Tonite a check on Chimneys Swifts at the Temperence St. School in New Glasgow I noted 137 birds enter between 9:06-9:09.
cheers
Ken
