Dear All, June 29, 2007
At North Alton this afternoon, while mowing a woods roads to mulch
apple, I noticed a Swallowtail working Buckthorn flowers (_Rhamnus
frangula_) and a rotating squadron of Dragonflies was sunning on a tier
of Spruce wood cut this spring and spring 06; two species, the 12
Spotted something or other and the something whitetail.

Some deer activity near the apple trees with apple brouse line at
shoulder height and much feeding on new Ash shoots. Few apple fruit this
year as most were picked by Ruffed Grouse in Feb & March. When they
decide to eat flower buds they can be quite thorough.

Yt, DW, Kentville
