Hi All This evening out along the river I came upon an old road where a lot of scratching had gone on recently. That is scratching on the ground. The ground is hard at that spot and the scratchs were not very deep. It didn't look like they were deep enough to cover the eggs. No sign of the turtle however - it might have moved on to another location. There was a nice hatch of Caddis flies present. Some nice big ones and some yellow sallies among the crowd. The nighthawks were enjoying the feast. Flying more over the trees tonight than previously when they were concentrated over the water. Seemed to be more of them also but its hard to count them. A couple of broods of Mallards were enjoying the feast also. Salmon parr have really grown since early spring and are now in the 15 cm range. They were plentiful this evening but I used a fly not to their liking so only one made a mistake. Hard to account for taste! The thrushes so plentiful a few days ago have disappeared from along the river. Must be better food elsewhere. Have a nice summer Paul ____________________________________________________________________________________ Be a better Heartthrob. Get better relationship answers from someone who knows. Yahoo!
