Paul, if you mean R. Carolinianum, mature plants readily self seed 
themselves in many NS gardens.  I have a half dozen growing that were 
collected  as 4 inch seedlings from the gravel path of a Halifax 
acquaintance.  This weekend will see my many rhodos almost at their peak 
colour if anyone is interested.
