It would indeed be interesting to know what the situation is here in Nova 
Scotia. In "The Butterflies of Canada", the authors say "They occasionally 
overwinter successfully in Canada in mild winters" which is a pretty broad 
statement. Southern Ontario certainly qualifies as part of Canada. Perhaps 
with climate change we'll see more of them very early in the spring.
