Hi All
Today with the northern winds was perfect to visit
Keji. The cool winds kept the worst of the black flies
at bay.
During the afternoon , while I was walking over a
little bog a single Nighthawk flew over my head. About
the top of the trees - came from the south and was
heading north. First one for me this year.
Latter there were a few dragon flies out. The kind
with the clear wings - small with light brown bodies.
There was plenty flies out so supper shouldn't have
been a problem for them.
Also a very dark hawk - just before the park on Route
8. It came down and sat in a tree about 5 m above the
ground near the road. When I slowed down, it flew off
- the body was black with the wings and tail somewhat
lighter. About crow size. Its elbows were very black
and noticeable. Prehaps a Dark Phase Rough-legged
would be my guess.
A good day - enjoy the spring
Paul
