Hi All This afternoon BB and I went for a paddle on a favorite lake. When we got there the rain had just stopped and the sky was still heavy overcast. The wind was close to North but was not blowing very hard but made it feel cool. When we got out on the lake, there were a lot of swallows flying about taking flies near the water. They would hit the water sometimes. Seemed there was both Tree and Barn Swallows with prehaps others. Dozens of them. After 30 minutes or so, the sky brightened, the temperature rose a couple of degrees and the wind pulled a little more to the West but didn't blow any harded. The number of flies on the water increased dramatically, even Mayflies came out and lots others but not many black flies. The susprising thing was that the swallows all disappeared when this happened. Exactly the opposite to what I thought would be the case. For the rest of the afternoon, there was no swallows on the lake. Prehaps it was rest time! Enjoy the spring Paul ____________________________________________________________________________________Need a vacation? Get great deals to amazing places on Yahoo! Travel. http://travel.yahoo.com/
