Highlights in Pictou County  - 47 species - Bird Migration count - May 12, 
2007

1 m, f  Yellow bellied sapsucker - Avondale
2 Pied billed Grebes - Avondale, Egert
9 (6 m, 3 female) Ring necked Ducks
1 Blue headed vireo - Big Island
3 (2m, 1 female) Common Goldeneyes - Avondale
1 male Common Merganser - Avondale
1 male Hooded Merganser - Avondale
1 Kestrel - Avondale
1 Kestrel - Mt. Thom
1 Spotted Sandpiper - Avondale
1 Pileated woodpecker - Avondale
1 Flicker (which bumped the Pileated Wp off the dead tree!)
4 Chipping sparrows - Avondale
1 Chipping Sparrow - Big Island
1 Common Tern - Lower Barney's River
4 Common Tern - Big Island
60 + Double Crested Cormorants - off Big Island
5 Great Cormorants - off Big Island
1 beautiful male Northern Harrier - very grey - Mt. Thom
40 + Goldfinchs in the same yard (along with 10 +) Purple Finch - Mt. Thom
just 2 Greater Yellowlegs (much lower than expected) - Big Island
2 Willets - Big Island
