For the past few days, I have had a male yellow-rumped warbler coming to my
suet feeder in between visits from the imm. male B. Oriole. This is the
first time I have had a YRW come to the feeders. Is this unusual behaviour?
The B. Oriole continues to feed all day and varies his time between the suet
and a metal mesh B.O. sunflower feeder, which he guards ferociously from any
other bird trying to land.
Still hordes of purple finches with a few A. goldfinches on occasion. No
sign of any pine siskins or redpolls this year.
Sadly passed a female partridge walking across the 103 this morning. With
the stream of oncoming traffic, I doubt if she made it to the other side!
There seem to be also many rabbits on the highway this week suffering a
similar fate!
