We had several Ruby-crowned Kinglets singing around waypoint D. Also around D, our first Yellow-bellied Sapsucker and Northern Flicker of the spring. At about 4pm, a Barred Owl was heard calling NE of waypoint F, and then around 5:30pm two Barred Owls were calling to each other due S of waypoint G. There is likely no repeat count as both series of calls were more distant than 1 km, and in opposite directions from the trail system. Also of note were a Pileated Woodpecker, Pine Grosbeak and unidentified Falco sp. (likely Merlin from habitat).
