The confusing yellow/orange bird with the brown head devouring my suet since
Friday morning has been identified as an immature male Baltimore Oriole. I
was wavering between that and possibly a stray female Western Tanager. Many
thanks to Andy Dean, Dorothy Poole and James Hirtle for their assistance. I
offered grapes and apple but they were ignored by the bird in favour of the
suet and occasionally a trip to the B O Sunflower feeder.
If anyone is interested, the bird seems to feed all day long and is on the
suet as I type.
