Hi All
This afternoon when the clouds cleared away, BB and I
took the canoe for a short paddle. First of the year.
Chippie stayed home to munch peanuts.
The water is high as was the wind. As the wind was
quartering off shore on the going portion, it made
paddling not too difficult. We had it on our back
coming back so that was easy.
Bird highlights were 2 loons. There is generally a
pair in this lake but I never remember chicks - could
be wrong there. Its a high traffic lake but that
doesn't seem to bother them. Prehaps this is the year
for chicks.
An Osprey passed over high in the air - going from
south west to north east. It didn't seem to be
fishing.
There was a good hatch of small stone flies on but
nothing feeding on them. A few larger ones also.
A fine paddle. Must get out more often!
Paul
