Hi Everyone; My husband and I decided to pass on the field trip on Saturday, due to the poor weather report; however, when we got up on Saturday, it didn't seem so bad - so we thought we'd grab some breakfast and try to meet the group as they came off the beach. I had totally missed Ian's report. We got there close to noon; late, as usual, and no one was there. We walked as far as the washout, but we didn't see any Piping Plovers. They were doubtless hunkered down in the grass, being far more sensible than we were! We did see a couple of Ipswich Savannah Sparrows - one at very close range. We also saw Sanderlings. On the way home, via Route #207, we saw our first Great Blue Heron of the year. Looks like we should have waited till Sunday! Cheers; Suzanne Be smarter than spam.
